*Cancelled* - Guy Maddin's Buttered Referees: An Evening of New Works and Conversation

Join us on March 26, for a special Canadian Film Forum event, acclaimed director and cinematographer Guy Maddin will present a collection of four of his recent short films. A Q&A-style discussion will follow the screening.

Frequently referred to as “the Canadian David Lynch,” Winnipeg-born filmmaker Guy Maddin’s surreal, dreamlike works are often cited for their striking visuals and obscure sensibilities. His first feature, Tales from the Gimli Hospital, appeared in 1988 and became a midnight-movie classic. In 1995, Maddin became the youngest winner of the Telluride Silver Medal for Lifetime Achievement. Together with Isabella Rossellini, he directed Send Me to the ‘Lectric Chair (2008).
