CSI faculty member, Brett Story's documentary, Union has been nominated for a Best Documentary Emmy.
Co-directed by Prof. Story and Stephen Maing, Union follows Amazon workers in Staten Island fighting to unionize. It won the Special Jury Prize at the 2024 Sundance Film Festial, and was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature despite being passed over for major studio distribution. After opting to self-distribute, Union was broadcast on PBS in 2025.
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will hand out the News & Documentary Emmys in late May.
