Cinema Studies Institute alumni reveal how their education and experience got them to the careers they love. 

Tom Cardoso is an investigative journalist with The Globe and Mail. Last year, his reporting on systemic racism in prisons was recognized with awards from the National Newspaper Awards and Canadian Association of Journalists. Tom has previously covered gun policy, policing and white collar crime, along with reporting on business and federal politics. He graduated from the University of Toronto in 2012, with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Cinema Studies from Innis College.

Stacey Feero is a product management professional. She is currently a Product Lead at Loblaw Digital working on Loblaw's only digital-first business, Loblaw Marketplace. She has worked in the tech industry for the last 13 years building digital products. She is an active member in the Toronto tech scene, building community as co-founder of Women in Product Toronto and as a mentor with APM Canada. Stacey graduated with a B.A. Specialist in Cinema Studies (2009) and M.A. in Cinema Studies (2010).

Solla Park is currently the Scripted Programming Executive Assistant at the premium TV network, Showtime. She works in both development and production, and most recently worked on shows like the new reboot DEXTER: NEW BLOOD, survival drama series YELLOWJACKETS, and the crime thriller YOUR HONOR. Prior to Showtime, she was the TV Business Affairs Coordinator at Entertainment One and have interned at HBO Max and Nickelodeon. Winner of the Norman Jewison Fellowship in Film Studies and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Scholarship, Solla has a MA in Cinema Studies and a BA in Sociology and Cinema Studies from the University of Toronto. She is graduating with her MFA in film & TV producing at USC's School of Cinematic Arts this May. During her academic career, she specialized in race representation in animation. Her passion for diversity on-screen and behind the screen developed from her nomadic experiences as a first-generation immigrant and a third-culture kid with roots in Korea, Canada, and China.
