Description
We are excited to host Stephen Schwartz for our last Critical Function Workshop of the semester. Stephen is presenting “Melancholy Days: Hard Times & Poetry in the Film Press,” chapter one of his dissertation. It explores how poetic expressions of melancholy were adopted by the film and entertainment press in the first decades of twentieth century to signal economic woe within the American film industry. Professor Charlie Keil will be the respondent.
As always, coffee and treats will be served. Please RSVP here to receive a link to download the paper.
