Biography
Amy Anderson has a BFA in Visual Arts and Film Studies from the University of Victoria, where her research focused on Feminist Film Theory and Gothic representations of the domestic in cinema. For the past 5 years, Amy has been the Programmer at an independent repertory cinema in Victoria, where her curation centred around arthouse, documentary and independent film. She has also served as a member of the International Feature Film Screening Committee at the Vancouver Film Festival. Amy's work at the Cinema Studies Institute will focus on the actuality films of the late 19th century, and how intermedial viewing platforms such as the Internet Archive may change and evolve the contemporary viewing experience of these films as historical documents.
