Andrew Simpson

Andrew is an MA student at the Cinema Studies Institute. He holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Film Studies from the University of British Columbia and Political Science from McGill University. His research interests include emerging media platforms (YouTube, Twitch) and popular cinema and media, with a focus on “low” popular genres that have been “rehabilitated” – or are awaiting rehabilitation – through scholarship, such as soap opera, popular television, professional wrestling, noir and neo-noir, and melodrama.
