Bradley Mulder

MA Student

Biography

Bradley is an MA student at the Cinema Studies Institute. He previously studied at the University of Toronto, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema Studies and English. In his research, Bradley is interested in exploring the fraught relationship between apparatus theory and affect theory in the context of contemporary horror cinema. Drawn to fledgling horror auteurs such as Ari Aster, Robert Eggers, and Jordan Peele, Bradley’s major research paper will examine the ways these filmmakers mobilize the cinematic apparatus to immerse the audience in negative affects such as grief, and in toxic relationship dynamics ranging from gaslighting to codependency.
