Huipeng Li

MA Student

Biography

Huipeng Li is an MA student at the Cinema Studies Institute. She received her BSc from University of Toronto in 2022, where she did a double major in cinema studies and psychology. Huipeng is interested in French cinema, experimental cinema, and feminist theory. Her research paper, The Third Sex”: An Examination of Wandering Women in French New Wave Cinema," explores femininity of the “flâneuse,” or wandering women, through the lenses of visibility, temporality, and spatiality. She is also a pre-programmer and programming team assistant at a local film festival.
