Mynt Marsellus

PhD Student

Biography

Mynt is a third-year PhD student at the Cinema Studies Institute. Their dissertation project argues for a new approach to authorship in cinema studies by staging an encounter between recent work in film philosophy, philosophical pragmatism, and classical auteurist texts, and exploring alternate conceptions of selfhood and subjectivity not often brought to bear on discussions of artistry and spectatorship in cinema studies. Mynt has a BA Honours in Film Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University as well as an MA in Cinema Studies from the University of Toronto.
