Description

This event has been cancelled in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The upcoming screening in the Toronto Film Review Presents series will feature Judy Versus Capitalism by Mike Hoolboom, who is a staple of the Toronto experimental film community and one of the best chronicler of fringe films in Canada.

Here’s Mike Hoolboom description of the work:
“User-friendly fringe movie essays. Documentary experimental crossroads. All inspired by the great feminist historian Silvia Federici and her work around the beginnings of capitalism, and the places of resistance she names as “the commons.” I’m going to show fresh cuts and works-in-progress, most made since the new year, part of a series of fringe features that started with Judy versus Capitalism, an hour-long bio essay about Judy Rebick and the titanic struggle around Harbord Street’s flagship abortion clinic that premiered at Rotterdam last month.”
