Description
On Friday, March 24th from 6-7:30pm CSI will be hosting a launch for the inaugural publication in a book series that Prof. Brian Price edits for Northwestern University Press, Superimpositions: Philosophy and the Moving Image. The first book in the series is So What, or How to Make Films with Words, by the philosopher Alexander García Düttman.
The event will take place in Innis College, room 222, and it will feature a conversation between Brian Price and Düttmann about the book, on the relation between film, art and philosophy more generally, as well as a Q&A. In addition to being a philosopher, García Düttmann is an actor who has appeared most recently in Albert Serra’s Liberté (2019), as well as a librettist and an author of an autofiction, The Academic Year (2014).

Earlier in the day, García Düttmann will be giving the keynote at the Centre for Comparative Literature’s Annual Conference.
