From Student to Studio Exec: A Conversation with Steven Senshan

Steven Senshan, Head of Xiaomi Studios in Beijing will share his experience of moving to China and running a studio after graduating with a Cinema Studies Major from the Cinema Studies Institute in 2016. 

Steven Senshan is a filmmaker and producer based in Beijing, China. He is currently the Head of Xiaomi Studios, the mobile filmmaking studio of global smartphone maker, Xiaomi. Steven created Xiaomi Studios in 2019 after joining Xiaomi a year earlier. Since then, Xiaomi Studios has produced over 60 short films completely shot Xiaomi smartphones in collaboration with filmmakers from all around the world. Xiaomi Studios has received awards from numerous film festivals including the New York Movie Awards, the Los Angeles Film Awards, and the Moment Invitational Film Festival, Steven has collaborated with critically acclaimed directors and film organizations such as Academy Award winner, Chris Overton and the Sundance Institute.
