I'm delighted to pass along the news that CSI faculty member Brett Story has just been awarded the US Documentary Special Jury Award for the Art of Change at Sundance for her new film Union (co-directed by Stephen Maing).
The jury citation reads: "Power has a way of making it feel like we have no choice but to accept gross injustice and inequity as a fact of life. Without oversimplifying the struggle – both inner and outer – this film reminds us that we do have a choice, that we can organize and fight for what is just. The Winner of the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for the Art of Change goes to Union."
Those who have watched Brett's previous films won't be surprised by this news, but let's all celebrate this fantastic achievement in anticipation of it playing in Toronto and (hopefully) at Innis Town Hall.
