Congratulations to Scott Richmond, Matthew Thompson, and Brian Jacobson on their awards from the Society for Cinema and Media Studies. Scott Richmond has been recognized for “Distinguished Service,” Matthew Thompson won second prize in the Graduate Student Writing Award for his essay “An Immodest Proposal: Soylent Green and the Fear of Being Consumed,” and former faculty member Brian Jacobson won Best Edited Anthology for In the Studio: Visual Creation and its Material Environments (University of California Press, 2020), which was produced while he was still a member of the Institute. They join a growing list of Institute members who have been recognized by SCMS and speak to the Institute’s prominent place in the field. The awards will be conferred this March at the annual conference. Scott, Matt, and Brian, we are all so proud of your accomplishments.
