CSI welcomes Patrick Keilty

July 25, 2023 by James Cahill

I'm delighted to share the news that Patrick Keilty of the Faculty of Information will be joining the Cinema Studies Institute. Patrick is already well known to many in Cinema Studies as through his participation in our graduate program and through his work as Director of the Sexual Representations Collection. Under his tenure, the SRC developed its holdings considerably (particularly in moving image media), built bridges with many of the local archives (and ArQuives), and grew to have an international reputation. His work with the collection has deepened his engagement with cinema and moving image media and made CSI the natural fit for his secondary appointment. He is editor of the forthcoming Queer Data Studies anthology (University of Washington Press, 2023), is co-editing the Handbook of Adult Film and Media with Darshana Mini, and has been very active with SCMS, among other accomplishements.

For the 2023-2024 academic year, Patrick will be teaching CIN341H1F - Adult Film History, and we look forward to him rounding out our strengths in queer media, sexuality and screen cultures, archival theory and practice, and digital media studies.
