The film project, The Sea is Calm Tonight, co-produced by CSI faculty member, Elizabeth Wijaya, has won the ARRI Award at the Asian Project Market at the Busan International Film Festival, currently running from October 5 to 14.
The film will be written and directed by Lê Bảo. In the film, Vietnamese boat people of 40 years past have a miraculous meeting with Rohingya refugees of the present in their extraordinary parallel journeys to find peace.
In 2020, the Office of the Vice Principal, Research, Research and Scholarly Activity Fund at UTM provided the crucial seed funding for the development of this project.
