The Toronto International Film Festival celebrates its 50th edition in 2025 with the World Premieres of films directed by two CSI alumni.
Alumna, Chandler Levack's second feature film, Mile End Kicks is one of the first five Special Presentation titles recently announced by TIFF.
Chandler was the 2024 Universal Studios Canada Screenwriter-in-Residence and completed a Specialist in Cinema Studies in 2011. In 2017, her short film We Forgot to Break Up premiered at TIFF and went on to play SXSW. In 2022, her debut feature film I Like Movies premiered at TIFF, was selected for Canada’s Top Ten Film Festival and won prizes around the world.
Former PhD candidate, Blake Williams's film, FELT is featured in the TIFF Wavelengths programme where it will have its world premiere. FELT is a 3D short film of a ghostly, deconstructed road trip across America. Blake's PhD research examined stereoscopic (3D) experimentation in the contemporary avant-garde film community.
TIFF50 runs September 4-14, 2025.
